Dick Besnier, President and Founder of the Besnier Financial Group Inc., has been active in the investment and financial services business since 1991. He is Insurance licensed and a Registered Representative with Centaurus Financial, Inc.

Dick graduated with a Physical Education major from the University of Maryland. It was the beginning of a successful teaching and coaching career. Over the next 30 years, Dick held positions at the College of William and Mary where he first served as Head Wrestling Coach and later as Associate Director of Development. In 1992 Dick was inducted into the William & Mary Athletic Hall of Fame.  At James Madison University, in addition to serving as Head Wrestling Coach for a number of years, his financial and administrative abilities were recognized by a concurrent appointment as Director of Business Affairs for Athletics. Dick’s vigorous fund-raising and management skills also led to a position as Director of Athletics at Clarion University. In 2004 his outstanding contribution to college wrestling was acknowledged when he was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum (NWHOF).

As President and Founder of the Besnier Financial Group, Inc. (BFG) Dick has assisted hundreds of seniors with advice on how to protect the investments that they have worked so hard to accumulate.  BFG has both an Educational Division and a Financial Division and Dick gives many lectures on retirement planning and strategies. He is highly regarded as a public speaker. The strong team approach that he developed during his coaching career continues, and he works with a professional team of Associates who together give clients the benefit and option of doing all their business in a single location at McLaws Circle in Williamsburg, Virginia.

Dick is married and has been a Williamsburg resident for over 25 years. Not surprisingly, he is a great sports enthusiast, golfer and enjoys regular workouts. He is an active member of the William and Mary Quarterback Club. He is President of the Virginia State Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame and does a great deal to promote the great sport to which he gave so much of his life.

Gary Besnier is the Vice-President of the Besnier Financial Group. He is also the son of Dick Besnier, its President and Founder. He is insurance licensed and has spent 14 years in the financial services field including two years in banking as a financial consultant. He has spent the last eight years working with the Besnier Financial Group. Gary is our Long Term Care Planning specialist and has extensive knowledge of the type of health issues that we will all face in our later years. In today’s economy, where government policy is increasingly moving to place responsibility for health care on individual planning, Gary has the experience and expertise to present a variety of solutions to advise our clients on one of life’s greatest financial risks.

He is married and is a life-long resident of the Greater Williamsburg area. A sports enthusiast, Gary is an active member of the William and Mary Quarterback Club as well as the Williamsburg Jaycees.

George Siracuse, President and Founder of Strategic Financial Planners, Inc.,* is a Registered Financial Consultant, and full-time practicing Financial Planner. He has been in the financial services industry since 1984 and has assisted individuals and businesses with their insurance, investment and financial planning needs since 1991. He is insurance licensed, a Registered Principal as well as an Advisory Associate with Centaurus Financial Inc. He specializes in the financial planning needs of individuals, professionals and small business owners.

George is a Fellow of the Life Underwriter Training Council, a current member of the International Association for Registered Financial Consultants, the Financial Planning Association and the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. He is also a Qualifying Member of the Million-Dollar Round Table.

His main office is in Milford, PA, but in 2005 George Siracuse and Dick Besnier commenced a close working association and Strategic Financial Planners, Inc. established their Virginia office at 337 McLaws Circle. George visits Williamsburg on a regular basis where he handles the investment advisory portion of our clients’ business.

George resides in Dingmans Ferry, Pennsylvania with his wife and family. He is active in local church, school and community programs.

Michele Polanis has been with Strategic Financial Planners, Inc. since 1998. She is Securities and Insurance licensed. Her main function with the firm is to act as Client Liaison, which involves tracking clients’ flow of business, answering questions regarding statements and updating and maintaining client files, coordinating all scheduling and office communications as well as office bookkeeping

Michele is involved with a number of community and school organizations. She is a lifelong resident of Pike County, Pennsylvania, where she lives with her husband and their children.

John Ayscue retired from the U.S. Army as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1989. An expert helicopter pilot and logistician, he served in Vietnam, Korea and Europe. John is experienced in financial and wealth management planning and is Health, Life and Annuity licensed. He is Founder and President of Benefits Assurance Agency, located in the same office suite with Besnier Financial Group. John and Dick Besnier have been friends for many years. They work closely together, combining their financial experience and expertise to offer an extensive variety of group and individual benefits for their clients. In addition, John is our residential specialist for life insurance.

John and his wife are long time residents of Kingsmill, Williamsburg, where they raised their three children. He was born and raised in North Carolina, is a keen fisherman, enjoys hunting, playing golf, is an excellent chef and a college football enthusiast, driving up to Charlottesville to support the University of Virginia Cavaliers as well as being closely involved with William and Mary football and an active member of the William and Mary Quarterback Club.

Donn Turner, following a successful career as the Director of Information Technology for a division of RCA and GE and an IT project manager for IBM, joined the staff of the Besnier Financial Group. After a couple of years with BFG Donn became an independent Reverse Mortgage Specialist. He retained his office in the same suite at 337 McLaws Circle, Williamsburg and remains part of our professional team, providing BFG clients with additional options that may help to meet their financial goals and objectives.

Donn, who was born and raised in New Jersey, lives with his wife in Kingsmill, Williamsburg. He is very active in the senior community in Southeastern Virginia, and a member of the Peninsula Task Force on Aging, the Senior Services Coalition, the Senior Advocate Networking Group, and the Greater Williamsburg Chamber and Tourism Alliance. Through these various organizations he interfaces with a very large number of professionals who work with and provide a variety of financial and health related services to seniors and their families.

Donn is a member of the Mobilizing for Action through Planning and Partnerships (MAPP) task force, a community-wide strategic planning tool for improving community health.

Trish Deetz has been with the Besnier Financial Group since 2004. She has been involved in university, library and museum administration throughout her career and brings a great deal of diverse experience to small business administration and marketing. Known as “the voice of BFG” Trish’s distinctive accent comes all the way from Cape Town, South Africa where she was born and raised. Her main function with the firm is to make our clients welcome, manage the office, help plan and organize courses, seminars and workshops, produce the firm’s publications and web site material. She is also responsible for keeping our Client database up to date, coordinating scheduling, and managing the office bookkeeping.

Trish has resided in the United States since 1993. She has numerous published research articles as well as a book on Plymouth Colony she co-authored with her husband. She moved to Williamsburg in 2001. Trish brings to BFG not only her administrative and writing skills, but also years of experience in working with people.

Sue Brosemer was born and raised in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. She served six years in the U.S. Air Force specializing in accounting and finance. Sue is Life and Health Insurance licensed and has spent the last 17 years in the insurance field working with people to plan ahead for financial hardships through disability insurance and asset protection. She brings to BFG her considerable experience in the insurance industry and personnel management. Sue works closely with our clients and is a valuable team member who can turn her hand to anything that needs attention.

Sue and her husband, a retired Navy Chief, reside in Gloucester Point, Virginia. They have a daughter and a little granddaughter who is the pride and joy of Sue’s life.
